What’s the sureshot recipe of getting one’s acting career out of the doldrums? Simple. Do an item song! Mallika Sherawat whose career was on a downslide after the super debacle of Hisss, is making the headlines again for the number of item songs she’s shaking her booty to. One item song has her turning into a ravishing Razia stuck among a bunch of virile goons, while another has her transforming into the seductive siren Jalebi Bai (in the pic above) gyrating with panache along with a bevy of firang babes. The latter item is for director Indra Kumar’s film Double Dhamaal in which Mallika is also the female lead. What’s more Mallika is said to be charging a bomb for these items but producers are happily loosening their purse strings just to have that eyeball-grabbing titillation from the empress of oomph. Not many may be aware that Mallika has also done an item song in the Kannada film Preeti Yeke Bhoomi Melide. MEHBOOBA MEHBOOBA Mallika made a guest appearance in Himesh Reshammiya’s acting debut Aap Ka Sarroor - The Movie and was seen jigging to the peppy beats of the remixed ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba’ at the film’s end. MAIYYA MAIYYA If Malaika Arora can have ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’, why can’t Mallika have ‘Maiyya Maiyya’. She appeared in director Mani Ratnam’s film Guru as a Turkish seductress dancing to the beats of an A R Rahman composition. RAZIA In Thank You, Mallika steps in for the item song Razia Gundo Mein Phas Gayi. Reportedly, she’s doing two item songs in the film.
