Slingbox comes to India for delivering rich TV entertainment

Refining this experience, Sling Media has unleashed a slew of video placeshifting products including the Slingbox 120, Slingbox Pro-HD, SlingPlayer and SlingLink in India. These products were presented today during an event held in Mumbai.
Delivering live TV content from a variety of sources, the Slingbox facilitates users to watch and control their favorite content. This system has been designed to render shows, videos and more via satellite receiver, cable box, DVR or video camera on mobile phones, PCs, laptops and tablets. For serving users’ palette with their preferred content, these systems merely need a broadband Internet connection.

The Slingbox 120 streams content in standard definition whereas those who wish to immerse in magnum opus high definition movies and more can opt for the Slingbox Pro-HD. The third product showcased at the launch namely the SlingLink enables users to establish an uncomplicated home Internet network. It is also said to come handy for extending fast and smooth video playback. Television enthusiasts who are constantly on the move can download the SlingPlayer Mobile software to make the optimum of the product.
The Slingbox 120 has been priced at Rs. 7,999 whereas the Slingbox Pro-HD can be purchased for Rs. 14,999. Users can grab the SlingLink by shelling out Rs. 4,999 while the SlingPlayer Mobile is out across various mobile application marketplaces at a price equivalent to $29.99. Further, the company has announced that no subscription fee will be charged post purchase. It has been disclosed that the Slingbox can be procured from select retail outlets including Reliance Digital and Croma throughout Mumbai, NCR, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Also available through online retail channels like Flipkart.com, it is soon expected to reach Chennai, Ahmedabad and Pune.
